In this paper, we consider the wave equation in polar coordinates on a radially symmetric disk with fixed boundary conditions. One example of a system that this equation governs is that of the vibrations on a circular drum head. We utilize techniques and skills learned in MAT 432, Differential Equations, to solve a particular form of partial differential equations (PDE), called Sturm-Liouville problems, that we would otherwise be unable to solve.
