Reflecting upon the spatial, material and multi-sensory aspects of one’s environment
during the Covid-19 Pandemic Quarantine, this exercise serves as a way to document and reflect upon the visceral experience of moving across a residential neighborhood, presenting a diversity of topographies, geographies, and experiences for the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. An analog or digital Neighborhood Map reflects one’s perceptions of Home.
In my neighborhood, I chose to illustrate the main attributes that are most apparent on the east side. Furthermore, focusing on the noise circulation of my neighborhood since the 605 freeway and 10 exit ramp is in close proximity to the edge, increasing the noise environment. This is due to the location being focused on an industry-based environment.
