Each person was assigned a black hole and given data from the Chandra X-ray telescope to perform analysis of its properties. Using Linux and analysis programs such as ds9, XSPEC, and cflux, everyone was able to obtain data about the properties of the black holes such as emission spectra, luminosity, particle density, and location. The data was then programmed into Python so that we could graph and plot the results and more easily compute necessary parameters.
The final paper compared an individual's black hole to the results of the rest of the class, using statistics and using other academic references and articles. Analysis and paper completed over 15 week semester
