The inspiration for this project comes from my senior project partners, Anthony Tran and Aaron Nguyen. This project is an Arduino-based activity tracker, similar to that of a Fitbit or any other athletic watch. It can detect heart rate, steps taken, calories burned, and more. We put a unique spin on the watch idea and created an additional armband that could communicate with the watch via Bluetooth. With this armband, the user was able to track more specific exercises, such as push-ups and sit-ups, and see how well they were performing them. We did face a few challenges, the most prominent one being that this project was locked inside the engineering building at Cal Poly Pomona so we were unable to finish our project once the school went into quarantine. However, we completed the most important parts of the project and we were more than pleased with our work.
